FOOD

Nerja’s food is typically Mediterranean. With the town squeezed in between the Costa del Sol and the Costa Tropical, the local dishes are based on fresh seafood and tropical fruits.

Traditional plates are the ajoblanco with uvas (a cold soup with almonds, olive oil, garlic and grapes), sardines or boquerones (anchovies), the insalada de aguacates (salad with avocado) or the tortilla de bacalao (omelette made with cod and sugar cane).
