Festivals in Manilva | Food in Manilva




La Feria de Manilva.La Feria. Held in August, is an important festival celebrated in the Recinto Ferial. Stalls, music, dancing, attractions for all ages.

Noche de San Juan. On June 23, a big party is celebrated on the beach of Sabinillas with a bonfire, fireworks and music.

La Virgen del Carmen. On July 16, a procession in honour of the Patron Saint of fishermen. Her image is taken to the beach and then into the sea by boat.

La Vendimia. In September, there is grape picking to produce the typical sweet, fruity wine of Maniva.


The typical dish is no doubt the "puchero", a soup made with meat, chickpeas, onion, carrots. You then use the broth for seasoning and cooking noodles.
Never missing on the table the tortilla de patatas (potato omelet), russian salad and boquerones (fried anchovies).

During the summer, you absolutely have to eat in one of the beach bars, called chiringuitos. They serve fresh fish which you can acompany with a white wine or a local "tinto de verano" (cold red wine and lemonade).
