FOOD

The history and gastronomy of Jerez have always been extremely linked to sherry wine, a product known world wide. In 1935 the “Protected Designation of Origin " was created to protect Jerez (Xeres) Sherry authenticity against counterfiet products.

Jerez traditional dishes include the puchero andaluz (soup with meat and vegetables), the Riñones al Jerez (kidneys cooked in sherry),  or the ajo campero (a gazpacho version served hot).
