Jerez Flamenco Festival. It is celebrated usually between late February and early March, and is considered one of the best, if not the best, festival in the world of flamenco.

Gran Premio de España de Motociclismo. The Jerez Motor Cycling Grand Prix is held in late April - early May, part of world racing competition, Jerez circuit is one of the most desired among pilots; here Valentino Rossi won 6 times the MotoGP race.

Feria del Caballo. The Horse Festival is also known as the Feria de Mayo or Feria de Jerez. It’s celebrated in May and is the main festival in town, with plenty of events and parties, where the best purebred Andalusian horses are displayed.
Fiesta de la Vendimia. In early September, this festival celebrates the wine grapes harvest. With sherry wine being the star of the event, the festival also offers food, flamenco and horse riding.


The history and gastronomy of Jerez have always been extremely linked to sherry wine, a product known world wide. In 1935 the “Protected Designation of Origin " was created to protect Jerez (Xeres) Sherry authenticity against counterfiet products.

Jerez traditional dishes include the puchero andaluz (soup with meat and vegetables), the Riñones al Jerez (kidneys cooked in sherry),  or the ajo campero (a gazpacho version served hot).
