La Feria del Carmen. In the middle of June, is a festival in honor of the Virgen del Carmen, patron of the Boliches, the old fishing district of Fuengirola; it’s celebrated with a procession at sea.

La Feria del Rosario. Fuengirola’s main festival is held in October in the Recinto Ferial, the local fairground in honor of the patron saint of the city, with events, music and food.

Fuengirola Pop Festival is a Pop festival celebrated during 3 or 4 days in July, but dates are changing every year. Emerging bands from all over Spain are performing at this festival.

Life Festival. This one day festival is usually held in July in the Sohail Castle, with performances from well known dj’s that turn this space into a huge nightclub, hosting more than 4,000 people.


Fuengirola’s typical dishes are the “arroz a la banda” and the “fideos a la banda”, rice or noodles with seafood, cooked in the same pan but served separately, in fact "a la banda" means on the side.

The fried fish, especially sardines, are found on every table. Also try the “torta de Fuengirola”, Fuengirola’s cake with cinnamon.
