The San Marcos Castle. It was built on the old Islamic mosque, which was later converted into a church when Alfonso the X took possession of the city, in 1264.

La Iglesia Mayor. It’s El Puerto de Santa Maria main church and a landmark of the city. It contains a mix of styles, gothic, baroque and neoclassical.

The Plaza de Toros, the Bullring. Built in 1880, is one of the most beautiful arenas of the whole of Spain. It has a maximum capacity of 15,000 spectators.

The beaches of El Puerto de Santa Maria. The Playa de la Puntilla and the Playa Fuentebravia, with in between the Puerto Sherry marina are well worth a hike. White sand beaches with bars and chiringuitos will reward your walking effort.
