The Fisherman and Tourist festivity. On the 15th of August, is a procession at sea in honor of the Virgen del Mar that ends with grilled sardines and wine at the Carboneras fishing harbor.

The Fiesta de San Antonio. Festivity in honor of the patron saint of Carboneras, is celebrated during the second weekend in June. It's a representation of the struggle between Arabs and Christians, with parades, bands, competitions and tournaments.
On the 13th of June the historical event is displayed as a show: in the morning the Moors arrive by sea and the Christians are on the shore to defend the city, and in the afternoon the opposite, the Christians at sea and the Moors on land.

Fresh fish is definitely the dish of Carboneras, try the sardines.
Generally the best option during the summer is a chiringuito, a beach bar-restaurant, a couple of tapas (appetizers) or raciones (plates) facing the Mediterranean sea are not a bad option.
