An inspiring place

In the heart of the Alpujarras, at an altitude of 1600 meters lies a unique and inspiring place, we are talking about O Sel Ling, a Buddhist retreat center founded back in 1980 by two important lamas, and blessed by the Dalai Lama himself in 1982. This is truly a magnificent place, far away from it all, where people from all over the world, buddhists and non buddhists, come to meditate in retreat or to attend courses.

This year marks the twentieth anniversary of the long lived Rockin' Race Jamboree festival of Torremolinos, twenty years have passed since the first opening edition back in 1995, god time pass so fast!

The Jamboree festival is very, very vintage, starting from its gorgeous poster all the way down to its music, of course, which is a mix of rockabilly, soul and rock, all clearly influenced by what was going on in the US back in the 50's, and as always Torremolinos will be the host city of this colorful festival.

Obey Malaga

The central district of Malaga renamed Soho, wants to be a leader in the national art scene, but there is still some way to go, this area has been chosen to be transformed into a cultural district after many years of whipping commercial and urban degradation.

The city of Malaga together with the neighbors launched this idea few years ago and now this is turning real, and these days you can see artists like Shepard Fairey of Obey (who also designed the Hope poster for Obama in 2008), working on a huge "murales" on a building façade in the Soho district.

Shark in Sotogrande

No this blog is not about bank executives living in fancy villas in Sotogrande, it's about a real shark that was spotted last Wednesday really close to the beach of Torreguadiaro.

The beach was full of bathers and someone managed to shoot a cool video (you can see it below), local police and guardia civil sealed off the beach and ordered all swimmers out of the water, and then managed to steer the shark out to deeper waters with the help of a motor launch.
