The San Antonio Festivity. Held on the 13 of June, in the district of Punta del Moral, a procession that ends with the statue of the saint being “launched” at sea.
The Nuestra Señora del Carmen festivity in July. It is celebrated in the district of Isla Canela. Here fishermen carry the image of the Virgin on their shoulders, while being half submerged in the waters of the Guadiana river.

The El Salvador festivity. In August, in honor of the patron saint of the district of La Villa. All the balconies in this part of the town are adorned with a variety of colorful flowers.

The Nuestra Señora de las Angustias festivity, celebrated on September the 8th in honor of the patron saint of the whole city. The streets get filled with people, including many Portuguese who share the devotion to the saint.



Las almejas (clams) are a classic local dish, the clams are catched on the sandbanks in front of Ayamonte. You can enjoy eating them sitting in one of the chiringuitos right on the beach.
